95 Volunteers Join the Broadclyst Parish Big Spring Clean 2024

Back in March three community litter picks took place across the Parish, including Tithebarn, West Clyst and Broadclyst. These were part of Keep Britain Tidy’s “Big Spring Clean” Campaign, and were organised by the Broadclyst Environment Group in collaboration with Broadclyst Parish Council and East Devon
District Council.

The three groups between them picked over 50 bags of rubbish, with some unusual finds, including some religious artefacts, what could be an urn, six tennis balls and a car wheel.

We will be taking part in the Big Spring Clean again next year but also have equipment available to loan if any of you are interested in doing some litter picking within your community at other times.

Also a big thanks to all those who help keep things tidy throughout the year! Particularly the Parish Council’s very own Andy Ricketts, who picks litter from across the Parish every week.
