Founded in January 2020, the Broadclyst Environment Group is a community-driven organisation committed to preserving and enhancing the local environment in Broadclyst Parish and the surrounding communities of Broadclyst, Broadclyst Station, Westclyst, Tithebarn, Budlake, and Westwood. We are a member of Community Action Groups (CAG) Devon (joined 2024) and work alongside Broadclyst Parish Council and East Devon District Council on environmental campaigns and activities. We communicate and coordinate through our Facebook page and an active WhatsApp community, welcoming anyone interested in joining our efforts

What We Do
Our local volunteers engage in initiatives to improve environmental quality and promote sustainability across the parish. These include:
- Participating in the Big Spring Clean campaign and organised community litter picks.
- Advocating for safe cycle and walking paths and campaigning for improved infrastructure.
- Volunteering as citizen scientists with Westcountry Rivers Trust to monitor water quality in local streams and rivers.
- Engaging in creative environmental projects such as community art and poetry initiatives.
- Encouraging eco-friendly actions through local pledges (e.g., greener travel, plant-based meals, gardening).
Our goal is to foster a community spirit around environmental stewardship and encourage collective action for a sustainable future.
